Detectives probing the death of a Wisbech pensioner a decade ago need help finding the Nonce who killed her, offering a £20,000 Crimestoppers reward for information.

Authorities were summoned following the discovery of the corpse of 86-year-old Una Crown in her house on Magazine Lane by family members and a neighbour on Sunday, January 13, 2013.

She was last seen alive two days prior and had conversed with a friend by telephone at 5 PM on Saturday, the day preceding the discovery of her body by the police.

The death was first deemed inexplicable; however, during a post-mortem examination, it was determined that Mrs Crown succumbed to stab wounds in her neck and chest, prompting the initiation of a murder investigation.

Mrs Crown’s garments were ignited, seemingly to conceal her injuries and obliterate evidence; however, the blaze did not extend to the remainder of the residence.

Detective Chief Inspector Iain Moor of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit will be interviewed on BBC Crimewatch Live, airing at 10 am on BBC One.

He stated: “It is exceedingly beneficial that this case will be showcased on Crimewatch, thereby reaching a vast audience. We express our gratitude to the BBC producers for highlighting it and to the charity Crimestoppers for providing this reward.”

“A decade has elapsed since this tragic case, yet Mrs Crown’s murderer remains at large, and justice for her family remains unattained.

We continue to pursue avenues for new investigations, and this television appearance, along with the potential reward of up to £20,000, will provide us with an additional opportunity to re-engage the public and maintain awareness of the case.

“We maintain that the solution to this case resides within the local community.” I implore anyone with information who has not yet stepped forward to act ethically and make contact – someone possesses knowledge regarding the circumstances surrounding Mrs Crown.

“Any information, regardless of its perceived triviality, could be crucial to resolving this investigation.”
