A Maidstone predator, Trevor Cook, who attempted to groom two young girls he had contacted on social media, has been sentenced.

Trevor Cook was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for continually demanding graphic content from his potential victims and bombarding them with explicit photographs of himself.

On February 22, 2026, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Kent Police learned that Cook had scheduled a meeting with one of the kids at a fast-food restaurant close to Broadway.

Officers arrived on the scene right away and took him into custody. Investigators discovered that he had been trying to meet girls for sex after reviewing the contents of his phone.

Officers found train tickets and evidence of a hotel reservation during their search of his house.

Cook, a resident of Massey Close, Maidstone, was subsequently accused of arranging or assisting in the commission of a child sex offence, attempting to cause or incite a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity, and attempting to communicate with a person under the age of 16 for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification.

On Monday, June 29, the 41-year-old was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court after pleading guilty to the charges.

Cook will be subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and serve an extended licence period of four years after his release.
