Tony Castle, a former karate instructor from Shropshire, was sentenced to seven years in prison for abusing children’s trust to commit years of sexual abuse.
Tony Castle, now of HMP Whatton, in Nottinghamshire, entered a guilty plea to ten charges of indecent assault against two boys between 1987 and 2002.
During this time, the 67-year-old Telford-based karate instructor took use of his position of authority to sexually assault one of the victims.
Castle sexually assaulted the second victim, who was not a member of the karate club, at several locations throughout a four-year period. In 2024, both victims told the police about the abuse.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, Castle was sentenced to seven years at Shrewsbury Crown Court. This sentence will be served concurrently with a 10-year sentence he received in 2024. Castle was also sentenced to ten years in 2011 for non-recent child sex abuse.
