In 2026, Tom Jun Ahnstrom, a 25-year-old teaching assistant and martial arts instructor from Southampton, was jailed for six years after pleading guilty to multiple child sexual offences against two teenage girls.
Tom Jun Ahnstrom, of Southampton, appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, where he was sentenced after admitting two counts of sexual communication with a child, two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, and causing a child to watch a sexual act. He also admitted three counts of making indecent photographs of a child following a search of his digital devices. The court heard that Ahnstrom contacted his first victim on Snapchat in July 2022 before targeting a second victim on the same platform later that summer.
Following an investigation by Dorset Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT), Ahnstrom was arrested in December 2023. Detectives commended both victims for their courage in coming forward to support the prosecution. The judge handed down a six-year custodial sentence alongside a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and lifetime restraining orders prohibiting contact with either victim.
Following his conviction for child sexual offences, Ahnstrom was placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements and long-term risk management by law enforcement upon any eventual release from prison.
