In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Thomas O’Rourke (31/12/51), of Newton Heath, was sentenced to 26 years at Bolton Crown Court today (Monday, July 6).

He was convicted of 31 counts of rape, sexual assault, and indecent assault against five survivors.

The offences were committed in various locations, including Middleton and Blackley, over several decades, from the 1970s to the 1990s.

The first survivor came forward to the police in 2019, reporting offences that occurred when they were a child.

Further survivors were uncovered following this, with the OIC making considerable efforts to locate them and obtain statements.

Their courage led to a full investigation and the offender’s eventual arrest and conviction.
