In 2023, Steven Dodd, a 38-year-old man from Telford, was jailed for three years after admitting to two violent attacks against a woman.
Steven Dodd, of Ketley Park Road, Telford, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 9 November 2023 after pleading guilty to sexual assault, common assault, and causing actual bodily harm. The court heard that the charges related to two separate domestic attacks committed in August 2021 and March 2022.
West Mercia Police praised the victim for showing astounding courage and bravery throughout the investigation. Detective Constable Izzy Broxton stated that the support provided enabled law enforcement to secure justice, reaffirming that reports of sexual violence and physical assault are taken extremely seriously. The judge handed down a three-year custodial sentence.
Following his conviction for sexual assault, Dodd was placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements and ongoing risk management by law enforcement upon any eventual release from prison.
