In 2023, the Offender Database reported that Steve Lawson, the Clock Face Paedophile Sex Offender, exchanged abhorrent photographs of child sexual exploitation with other paedophiles and was sentenced to 22 months in prison.

“You acknowledge that you pursued adult pornography, yet you persist in denying that you sought or disseminated indecent images of children, despite your guilty pleas and compelling evidence in the chat logs,” stated Recorder David Knifton, KC.

“Any individual perusing the messages would be appalled by the nonchalant manner in which you and others exchanged such obscene images, routinely soliciting photographs of increasingly younger children.”

Fiona McNeill, the prosecutor, stated that law enforcement conducted a raid at Steve Lawson’s family home on Hornby Crescent, Clock Face, St Helens, Merseyside, on October 8, 2021.

Miss McNeill stated that a total of 111 indecent photographs of children were found, including videos, one of which depicted the violent rape of a two-year-old girl by two men.

There were 18 photographs and movies in the most severe category A, while the majority resided in the least severe category C. A forbidden photograph, with a cartoon-style image, was also discovered. All the photos were created between March 18 and August 24, 2021.

Steve Lawson, a delivery driver and father of three, distributed 10 photographs classified as category B and 24 images classified as category C, and he received images from other users. In multiple conversations, he expressed a liking for photographs of younger individuals.

During the interview, he stated that he had received unsolicited photographs of minors and, upon realising this, he returned them.

Steve Lawson initially lied and denied any wrongdoing; nevertheless, over time, he came to concede certain elements of the case, albeit not all.

The defendant entered a guilty plea for holding indecent photographs, three counts of downloading them, possession of a forbidden image, and two counts of distribution on the day his trial was scheduled to commence last month.

Recorder Knifton mandated the defendant to register on the Sex Offenders Register for a duration of 10 years and instituted a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the equivalent period.

As is the norm, Steve Lawson’s family, including his wife and daughters, wrote glowing references to the court pleading for leniency, even though he had been trading in images and videos depicting toddlers being violently raped and tortured by adults.
