Convicted music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was rushed to hospital from a federal prison in New Jersey on Saturday morning after sustaining a head injury during his incarceration.
Sources confirmed that an ambulance transported the 56-year-old from the low-security Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix at approximately 1:00am to an external medical facility for emergency assessment. Officials confirmed that Combs was conscious, coherent, and speaking upon his return to the institution prior to sunrise. While the injuries were classified as non-life-threatening, prison authorities have refrained from commenting on how the trauma was sustained.
The medical emergency occurred amidst reported friction between Combs and other incarcerated individuals. Sources have indicated the injury may have stemmed from an altercation with another prisoner inside the housing unit. Combs was previously involved in a reported altercation with an inmate in September, an incident that coincided with his projected federal release date being adjusted from June 2028 to 5 February 2028.
Combs was handed a sentence of four years and two months (50 months) in federal prison after being convicted on prostitution-related charges under the Mann Act. That verdict concluded an eight-week trial in which a jury acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. The criminal proceedings placed his private affairs under public scrutiny, featuring witness testimony detailing coerced, drug-induced multi-day gatherings described as “freak-offs” or “hotel nights.”
Following the medical incident, reports indicate federal corrections authorities have initiated a security transfer to move Combs to another facility within the Bureau of Prisons network.
Under legal reporting standards and statutory victim protection provisions, all victims and complainants connected to sexual offence proceedings are protected by lifelong statutory anonymity. Publishing, broadcasting, or disseminating any details, names, addresses, or photographs capable of leading to public identification is strictly prohibited.
