Ryan Shead, aged 33, of Anstey Road, Liverpool, Merseyside, was sentenced to 20 months’ imprisonment at Liverpool Crown Court in August 2026 after being convicted of multiple voyeurism offences and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

The court heard that in the early hours of Thursday, 16 July 2026, security personnel at a licensed premises on Wood Street in Liverpool city centre observed Shead utilizing a mobile telephone to record illicit footage beneath the clothing of female patrons without their knowledge or consent. Door staff flagged down patrolling Merseyside Police officers at approximately 1:10am, leading to Shead’s immediate detention and arrest.

Following his arrest, detectives seized Shead’s mobile telephone for forensic examination. Digital analysis confirmed that Shead had recorded non-consensual images under clothing. Furthermore, police checks established that Shead was already subject to an active Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which his actions directly violated.

Shead was formally charged with three counts of recording an image under clothing to observe another without consent (upskirting) and one count of breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Appearing before Liverpool Crown Court, the matter concluded with the presiding judge sentencing Shead to a total custodial term of 20 months’ imprisonment for the offences.
