Ryan Cullen, the Linnvale Paedophile and former youth football child protection officer, who downloaded child abuse photographs, has been assigned more community service hours.

In 2019, Ryan Cullen, residing in Greenwood Quadrant, Clydebank, Dunbartonshire, G81, received a reprieve from incarceration after acknowledging two offences with the production and possession of indecent photographs of minors from June 2015 to November 2018.

He received a three-year community payback order (CPO) under social worker monitoring, along with 250 hours of community service.

He was placed on the sex offenders register for three years, coinciding with the duration of his access to abuse images and films.

On August 27, the Dumbarton Sheriff Court was informed that 27-year-old Ryan Cullen had violated the terms of his community-based sentence by accepting employment without notifying his supervising officers.

Defence attorney Brian McGuire stated that his client was the least likely individual to return with a violation.

However, the court was informed that Ryan Cullen’s mother had requested her son to help with various tasks as a courtesy.

He received payment but returned the cash. Mr McGuire stated that he has been a labourer all his life, hence the chance to provide assistance was very appreciated.

He believed he was not engaging in any inappropriate behaviour.

The resultant anxiousness has been evident to me.

His mother lost her job due to the negative press.

The attorney implored Sheriff William Gallacher to refrain from rescinding the current CPO and to exclude Cullen from incarceration.

Sheriff Gallacher said:

I accept what I hear. It ought not to have happened.

The notion that anyone subject to any order can never contribute to the community is wrong, and all orders by the court are to return people to the community where that can be safely done.

He allowed the CPO to continue, but added 75 more hours of unpaid work to be completed within six months.

Before undertaking any voluntary or paid work, Ryan Cullen must discuss it with his supervising officer.

The sheriff added: I don’t expect to see you again.

In 2019, the Post reported that the Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA) was looking into the case because of Ryan Cullen’s past role with the Dunbartonshire Youth Football Development League (DYFDL).
