In 2022, a Northampton sex offender, Rodney Paul Webster, was jailed for a campaign of abuse against three children, which went on for 10 years.
Former Northampton resident Rodney Paul Webster, then 58, was found guilty of 22 charges of indecent assault more than 30 years ago and was sentenced to 14 years and eight months.
At his trial in September, a jury found that he had repeatedly raped and sexually molested the three youngsters between 1978 and 1988, despite his attempts to maintain his innocence, according to Northampton Crown Court.
“Webster believed he had gotten away with his crimes, living in freedom for more than 30 years, but this case proves that it doesn’t matter how much time has passed—we will do everything in our power to ensure you end up in prison for what you have done,” stated Det Con Kelly Roberts, the primary investigator.
“These three kids have been abused for a very long time, and they are now adults. I want to congratulate them for their fortitude and tenacity over this extended investigation and for providing evidence in court. “I know what Webster did to them will never leave them, but they may be pleased that they spoke out and that he is now in prison due to their courage.“
