In 2021, Paul Stockwell, aged 74, of Ring Road, Beeston, Leeds, was sentenced at Leeds Crown Court to four years in prison after being convicted of sexual offences against a teenage girl.
A jury convicted Stockwell of two counts of sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 following a crown court trial. Prosecutors outlined how the married defendant sexually touched and kissed the teenager on two separate occasions at a residential address in Leeds during early 2019.
During the first incident, the victim explicitly told Stockwell to stop.
On the second occasion, Stockwell kissed her and subsequently begged the victim not to report the abuse to the police.
The court heard the severe emotional impact inflicted upon the survivor, who suffered from depression, nightmares, and disrupted eating habits, requiring professional counselling.
Towards the conclusion of the trial proceedings, Stockwell suffered a fall overnight and received medical treatment in hospital, leading to him being sentenced in his absence.
