Paul Roberts, then aged 39, of St Helens, has been sentenced to additional prison time after admitting charges of sexually assaulting a child under 13 and engaging in sexual communication with a child.
At the time of his court appearance, Roberts was already serving a three-year prison sentence for breaching his Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO). That breach involved communicating with a child under 16 without supervision and allowing the child to visit his property without parental consent.
Merseyside Police conducted a further investigation into his actions, securing evidence that led to additional charges being brought before the court.
Roberts entered formal guilty pleas to sexual assault of a child under 13 and sexual communication with a child.
In November 2022, the judge ordered that Roberts serve an extended custodial period, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
