A Great Yarmouth Rapist Sex Offender, Paul Glascott, was sentenced to ten years in prison for raping a lady after bringing her to his house.
Paul Glascott, 42, of Anson Road, Great Yarmouth, was found guilty of rape after a trial at the same court in February 2026. He was sentenced today, Friday, July 3, 2026, at Norwich Crown Court.
A woman reported to the police on Sunday, May 29, 2022, that she had woken up at an unidentified home where a man had been attempting to have sex with her. She didn’t know who he was, where she was, or how she got there.
From the security of a friend’s home, she called the police and consented to forensic tests. She had no recollection of these established full sexual encounters.
Officers identified Glascott through enquiries, and on May 31, 2022, he was taken into custody at his residence.
CCTV revealed that early on May 29, Glascott entered a taxi on Great Yarmouth’s Marine Parade, leaving the door open. The victim is soon seen approaching the open taxi door and then entering.
In a statement read to the court today, the victim said: “This has affected me in so many ways, it has affected my mental health, my relationship with my partner, my relationship with my friends, and has also at times impacted my job.
“I struggle with feeling ashamed and guilty about the impact this has had on my partner and family. This has not just affected me, but everyone around me, my whole support network, who have had to support me for the last four years.
“In May 2022, I lost a part of myself. I lost my confidence, my sense of safety, and the life I once recognised. I feel empty and I do not know if I will ever fully regain the person I was before this happened.”
