Nicholas Clements, then aged 35, of Laurel Close, Lincoln, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison at Lincoln Crown Court for child protection offences.
The court heard details regarding a Lincolnshire Police Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit investigation into digital grooming. Prosecutors outlined how Clements engaged in illicit online communication with a child and attempted to arrange an in-person meeting.
Detectives seized digital equipment and conducted forensic examinations to compile evidence of his online activity.
Clements appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday 4 November 2022, where he entered guilty pleas to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to meet a child following grooming.
The judge sentenced Clements to 27 months’ imprisonment and issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
