In 2022, an alert passerby observed Mohammed Chaudry, a convicted sex offender, in his vehicle with two inebriated adolescents who were high on nitrous oxide.
Mohammed Chaudry, then 41, was observed by the woman in his Vauxhall Astra in the heart of Liverpool. She observed the females, one of whom was “foaming at the mouth.”
Today (Friday, December 2), Liverpool Crown Court heard that her attention was drawn to them when Chaudry, of Stretford, called out to her, “My friends fancy you; will you enter?”
Michael Scholes, the prosecutor, stated that she was so apprehensive that she contacted the police. After disseminating the vehicle’s information, they located it at 2:50 a.m. on July 15, 2018, on Edge Lane as it departed the city and headed toward the M62.
He was apprehended and discovered to be a convicted sex offender registered with the Greater Manchester Police. There was a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old female in the car that day.
Chaudry was breathalysed and determined to be over the legal limit. Additionally, a small quantity of cocaine, cannabis, and nitrous oxide canisters were discovered in the vehicle. Empty alcohol bottles were also present, and both adolescents were under the influence of alcohol.
They stated that they were travelling in the Eccles area when Chaudry approached them in his vehicle and asked them to enter. They followed his instructions. According to the older girl, she attended to her friend.
He transported all three of them to Liverpool after they had consumed alcohol and nitrous oxide. He began kissing the younger girl and touching the thigh of her companion after driving around the city for a while.
Mr Scholes stated that the defendant had previously displayed a knife to them, and the older girl expressed her fear and desire to return home. However, they were unfamiliar with the vicinity.
Previously, Chaudry, of Chester Road, Stretford, was convicted of causing or inciting underage girls to engage in prostitution in June 2013.
He entered a guilty plea to sexual assault, engaging in sexual activity, possessing cocaine and cannabis, and driving with an excessive amount of alcohol.
Judge Denis Watson, KC, sentenced him to two and a half years in prison, stating, “You exploited the fact that they were inebriated to commit these two sexual offences.”
