In 2022, after grooming an adolescent girl for nine months, a paedophile, Michael Walker, from Winsford, was incarcerated for ‘preying on’ her.
On Friday, December 2, Michael Walker, then 45, was found guilty of nine counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child and appeared at Chester Crown Court.
The court heard during the preceding trial how he groomed the adolescent between August 2020 and April 2021.
The police apprehended Walker in August 2021 after the victim reported him.
He was charged with eight counts of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a minor and one count of causing or inciting a teenager to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity after being questioned. He was convicted of all charges.
Walker, a resident of Yellowhammer Crescent, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison during the court hearing on Friday.
Additionally, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order was issued to him.
