In 2026, the #OffenderRegister reported that Michael Wainwright, who exposed himself and masturbated in the vicinity of a woman with a pushchair at a railway station in West Yorkshire, was jailed.
Michael Wainwright, 74, of Ashenhurst Road in #Calderdale, was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment and issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order at Bradford Crown Court on Thursday, June 25.
He had previously entered a guilty plea to Exposure at Bradford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 30.
The court was informed that on Sunday, February 22, at approximately noon, a woman approached a staff member at Hebden Bridge railway station to report that a man named Wainwright was masturbating on the platform in proximity to a woman pushing a pram.
The staff member was unable to see anything on the live CCTV feed, so they investigated the incident by stepping onto the platform.
Subsequently, he proceeded to the platform and observed Wainwright masturbating and exposing himself. Consequently, he promptly contacted the authorities.
An arrest was made, and Wainwright was taken into custody by BTP officers who arrived at the station.
Wainwright acknowledged the offence during his police interview and acknowledged that his actions were unlawful; however, the #SexOffender was unable to explain his actions.
