Michael Clennell, the Essex Paedophile, a founder of a private internet community established solely for the sexual exploitation of children, has been incarcerated.
Michael Clennell, 46, has received a sentence of 9.5 years at Snaresbrook Crown Court for numerous counts of child abuse, including facilitating the sexual exploitation of minors, involvement in an organised crime group, and the creation, possession, and distribution of indecent images of children, after admitting guilt to these charges. He was additionally granted a six-year extension of his licence.
This prosecution followed an NCA investigation into Michael Clennell, who is accountable for establishing and overseeing a private online group where the sexual exploitation of children is openly deliberated, and indecent images of minors are disseminated, including those of a 16-year-old girl he travelled to Germany to meet.
Michael Clennell had additionally engaged in another comparable online group where, among other activities, members deliberated on methods for grooming victims, which evidence indicated he had implemented.
