On 6 August 2026, Martin Cowley, aged 70, of Checketts Close, Pinvin, Pershore, was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court to 11 years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of 14 non-recent child sexual offences.
The court heard details regarding an investigation launched by West Mercia Police into offences dating back to the 1990s. Prosecutors outlined how Cowley targeted a girl under the age of 16, subjecting her to repeated sexual abuse over a prolonged period.
Following police enquiries and Cowley’s arrest, the case proceeded to trial at Worcester Crown Court. On 14 May 2026, following a four-day trial, a jury returned guilty verdicts on all 14 counts of indecent assault on a girl under 16 years of age.
On Thursday 6 August 2026, the presiding judge handed Cowley an 11-year and nine-month custodial sentence for his crimes.
