In 2021, Martin Allen, a then 49-year-old man from Balby, Doncaster, was jailed following a police investigation into a series of historical sexual offences involving children.
Martin Allen, of Albany Road, Balby, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, 19 June 2021, to six years in prison. His conviction followed a trial where he was found guilty on 21 May of nine separate counts, including inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and allowing a child to watch a sexual act. The offences took place over seven years between 2012 and 2019 in South Yorkshire.
During legal proceedings, the court heard that Allen denied his involvement during police questioning and entered not-guilty pleas at an earlier hearing. However, investigating officers compiled a comprehensive body of evidence that persuaded the jury of his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Detectives praised the victims for their courage throughout the police enquiry and trial process.
In addition to his six-year custodial term, Allen was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to ensure strict ongoing monitoring and public protection upon his release.
