In 2026, the Offender Register reported that, beginning in spring 2022, Kevin O’Toole repeatedly sexually abused a minor. He ultimately coerced his victim into engaging in sexual activities with him after establishing a rapport with her.
The abuse persisted for approximately one year before the victim disclosed the offences to an adult.
The adult then reported the matter to Kent Police on the same evening in April 2023.
O’Toole was promptly apprehended, and an investigation was initiated. O’Toole categorically denied ever handling his victim during his police interview, even responding with “no way in hell” when asked about his abuse.
While the investigation was ongoing, the 46-year-old was granted strict conditional parole and released.
In June 2025, Lincoln police executed a warrant on O’Toole’s residence after his detention, and they discovered more than 180 indecent images of children on his devices. These offences resulted in his arrest and subsequent investigation.
O’Toole, who was previously residing on Canwick Road in Lincoln, was subsequently charged with seven sexual offences, three of which were related to the indecent images that were found on his devices.
He entered a not guilty plea; however, a jury at Canterbury Crown Court unanimously found him guilty of all charges after a three-day trial in May 2026.
At the same court on Thursday, July 9, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Additionally, he will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the duration of his life.
