Justin Noble, then aged 42, of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, was sentenced to one year and two months’ imprisonment (14 months) at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday, 28 August 2026, after breaching statutory sex offender notification requirements.
The conviction follows an investigation by Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Management of Serious and Violent Offenders unit (MOSOVO).
The court heard that Noble was subject to strict sex offender notification requirements imposed in 2024, when he received a six-month prison sentence for breaching an earlier court order dating back to 2016.
Under the statutory conditions of his notification requirements, Noble was legally mandated to register all email addresses, online usernames, and internet-enabled accounts with police.
In January 2025, MOSOVO officers conducted an unannounced routine compliance inspection at Noble’s Peterborough residence and inspected his mobile phone.
The examination revealed that Noble had opened several undisclosed email addresses and online accounts, including an active profile on eBay, without informing law enforcement.
Noble initially denied the allegations under caution but subsequently changed his plea, admitting:
- Failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements
Detective Constable Claire Cummings highlighted that sexual harm prevention orders and notification requirements exist to manage risk and safeguard the public, warning that police will take robust action against non-compliance.
The presiding judge handed down a custodial sentence of 14 months’ imprisonment.
Release Calculation: Under UK sentencing legislation governing standard determinate sentences for non-sexual offences, Noble is required to serve one-half (7 months) of his 14-month sentence in prison custody before becoming eligible for automatic statutory release on licence. Upon completing his custodial term, Noble will serve the remaining seven months under the supervision of the Probation Service in the community.
