Jordan Richards, aged 35, of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, has been sentenced to an extended custodial sentence of 25 years with 21 years’ imprisonment at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, 21 August 2026, after admitting 36 child sexual offences.
The court heard that Richards carried out a four-year campaign of systematic sexual violence and exploitation against a single female child in the Ammanford area between 2012 and 2016.
During the prolonged period of offending, Richards subjected the victim to repeated penetrative sexual assaults and rapes across her teenage years.
The full indictment against Richards comprised:
- Ten counts of oral rape of a female aged 15 years old
- Ten counts of oral rape of a female aged 16 years old
- Ten counts of rape of a female aged 17 years old
- One count of vaginal rape of a female aged 16 or 17 years old
- Three counts of assault by penetration of a female aged 15 or 16 years old
- One count of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child aged 13 to 15 years old
- Producing over 600 indecent images of children (CSAM)
The investigation established that Richards systematically took over 600 photographs and videos recording his sexual abuse of the survivor.
Richards initially pleaded not guilty to all charges, forcing the survivor to endure the opening of a jury trial at Swansea Crown Court.
On the second day of the trial, Richards changed his plea and entered full guilty pleas to all 36 counts on the indictment.
The presiding judge condemned Richards’ offending as cruel and isolating, noting that the hundreds of images taken illustrated the pleasure he derived from his lustful and filthy attitude towards the victim.
The judge handed Richards an extended sentence of 25 years, comprising 21 years in immediate prison custody and an extended licence period of four years.
The court also made Richards subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), granted an indefinite restraining order protecting the survivor, and placed him on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
