In November 2022, Jordan Croft, then aged 26, of Worthing, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court to 18 years in prison with an extended licence period of eight years after pleading guilty to 65 child sexual offences and blackmail charges.
The court heard details regarding a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation into an extensive online grooming and blackmail operation targeting 26 girls and women aged between 12 and 22. Prosecutors outlined how Croft established 20 fake online profiles across four messaging platforms, posing as a teenage boy to contact over 5,000 individuals.
After obtaining graphic photographs from victims, Croft revealed his identity and blackmailed the young girls, threatening to distribute the images to their relatives and social media connections unless they carried out further sexual acts.
NCA investigators executed digital warrants, seizing devices containing more than 900 indecent images of children.
Croft entered guilty pleas to 65 counts at Lewes Crown Court in August 2022.
In November 2022, the presiding judge handed Croft an 18-year custodial sentence with an eight-year extended licence, placed him on the sex offenders register for life, and imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
