In 2022, John Poles, the Smethwick Rapist, was sentenced to imprisonment today (23 November) for sexual assault occurring during an evening of alcohol consumption.
John Poles received a sentence of seven years and eight months at Wolverhampton Crown Court for four counts of assault by penetration and two counts of sexual touching.
The 56-year-old perpetrator, John Poles, residing on Manor Road, Smethwick, was acquainted with his victim and used her following an evening of alcohol consumption in October 2020.
Law enforcement praised the valour of the sexual assault victim, who had the fortitude to contact cops following her traumatic experience.
Investigating officer DC Nikki McMurray stated: “Regardless of the circumstances, the victim did not consent to sexual intimacy, and we commend her courage in reporting the crimes she endured.”
“Addressing the needs of victims of sexual offences is paramount; we are attentive and implementing measures for enhancement.”
