In November 2022, John Lohan, then aged 56, formerly of Warrenne Close, Doncaster, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of 13 child sexual offences.
The court heard details regarding a South Yorkshire Police investigation into prolonged sexual abuse committed against two female victims aged under 10. Prosecutors outlined how Lohan subjected both children to repeated sexual attacks, with the offending spanning several years in relation to one victim.
Lohan refused to admit guilt during police interviews and offered no remorse, requiring both survivors to give evidence during a crown court trial.
Following the trial, a jury found Lohan guilty of six counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of rape, two counts of indecent assault, two counts of indecency with a child, and one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act.
