In 2022, the Offender Register reported that John Forsyth, a registered sex offender who posed a “significant danger” to young children, had been incarcerated for the sexual assault of two young boys.
In September, John Forsyth, then 53, of Heckmondwike, was convicted of six offences that occurred between 2005 and 2006.
In 2020, the abuse was disclosed when the two victims independently contacted the police.
On Thursday, at Leeds Crown Court, he was sentenced to 21 years in prison, with an additional five years to be served on an extended licence.
Kirklees Child Safeguarding Unit initiated an exhaustive investigation after the complainants’ communication with officers, as reported by West Yorkshire Police.
Forsyth, who was previously listed as a sex offender, was subsequently apprehended and prosecuted.
He was found guilty of the following: attempted rape, sexual assault, two counts of raping a child under 13, and two counts of sexual activity with a child under 13.
