In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Joel Hookings, a 21-year-old man, had been incarcerated for sexually assaulting and raping a woman while she was asleep.
Joel Hookings, a resident of Lon Cae Glas, Pwllheli, captured footage of the assault and stored it in a concealed Snapchat folder.
He appeared for sentencing at Mould Crown Court on Monday, July 13, following his admission of rape and sexual assault by penetration at a previous hearing.
Additionally, he acknowledged the creation of indecent images of children, including 11 images classified as Category A, one image classified as Category B, and three images classified as Category C.
Hookings was incarcerated for a total of eight years and four months.
A lifetime restraining order was implemented to safeguard the victim, and he was also required to register as a sex offender indefinitely.
