Subsequent to a Thames Valley Police investigation, Jahmel Flemming, the London Rapist, has been incarcerated for sexual and violent crimes in Reading.

British, Jahmel Flemming, 28, of Eldon Park, London, was sentenced to thirteen and a half years in jail at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday, September 30.

He was found guilty by the jury of:

  • Three counts of actual bodily harm
  • Two counts of rape
  • One count of sexual assault
  • One count of sexual assault by penetration
  • One count of assault
  • He pleaded guilty to one count of common assault.

He was acquitted of one charge of intentional strangling.

On 13 December 2024, Jahmel Flemming inflicted a continuous sequence of severe physical assaults on the victim, a lady, in both public and private settings. This involved yanking her hair and delivering multiple punches, resulting in a shattered cheekbone, along with significant swelling and bruising to her face and torso.

Subsequently, within the premises, Jahmel Flemming perpetrated sexual assault and rape on the woman, employing physical violence.

Jahmel Flemming was apprehended on the day of the offences and indicted the following day.

Additional charges were imposed via postal requisition on 28 January of this year.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Becky Edey, said: “Jahmel Flemming is a violent individual whose actions are inexcusable. His prolonged and vicious assault showed no regard for the victim, leaving her with significant injuries.

“Thanks to the victim’s courage, Jahmel Flemming has now been held accountable and will no longer pose a threat to others.

“I would like to take this opportunity to commend the incredible bravery shown by the victim in this case. Her strength has not only led to justice being served to Jahmel Flemming but has also helped prevent further harm to others, and we are truly grateful. I hope this outcome provides her with some closure and allows her to begin moving forward with her life.

“This case demonstrates Thames Valley Police’s commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, including all forms of sexual violence and abuse. I hope this conviction and lengthy custodial sentence sends a clear message that we take every possible action to safeguard victims and bring offenders to justice.
