In 2021, public safety concerns were raised after Jade Henderson, a convicted sex offender, relocated to Lanarkshire following a prison sentence for breaching court restrictions.
Jade Henderson, formerly 27 and originally from Blackpool, was previously placed on the Sex Offenders Register and given a suspended sentence in 2016 after admitting to engaging in sexual activity with an 11-year-old boy. A Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) was imposed to restrict her access to children. However, Henderson received a 15-month custodial sentence at Preston Crown Court after committing five separate breaches of the order, including failing to notify authorities of address changes while working as a hotel manager and making unauthorised contact with families and young children.
During one breach at a campsite in North Wales in May 2018, Henderson befriended a family with young children, took photographs, and repeatedly offered to babysit while fabricating stories about her past. The mother discovered Henderson’s criminal convictions following online checks and alerted law enforcement, who took formal statements. Following her imprisonment for the breaches of the order, Henderson relocated to an address in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, prompting warnings from members of the public to ensure local families remained aware of her history.
Following her convictions, Henderson remains subject to strict public protection monitoring and notification requirements under the Sex Offenders Register.
She also remains subject to court-ordered restrictions under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) designed to restrict contact with children and manage public safety risks.
