Jacob Leslie Simcock, aged 35, of Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire (also known as Jacob Murfin), was sentenced to 14 years and ten months in prison with an extended three-year and two-month licence period at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Wednesday, 12 August 2026, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual, domestic abuse, and violent offences against two women.
The court heard that Simcock carried out two separate rapes against the first victim inside a residential address in north Staffordshire. During the assaults, Simcock subjected the victim to intentional strangulation, threatened her with physical harm, attempted to isolate her from support networks, and threatened to distribute intimate media. Investigative officers subsequently uncovered video recordings on Simcock’s electronic devices proving he had secretly filmed both rapes without the victim’s knowledge or consent.
Simcock targeted a second female victim during the same period, subjecting her to intentional strangulation, stalking, and threats to disclose intimate photographs. While the second victim was present at a police station providing statements to law enforcement, Simcock repeatedly attempted to contact her from withheld phone numbers, demanding she recant her allegations, and threatened to petrol bomb her home.
Staffordshire Police launched a full investigation following the disclosures, gathering digital forensic media, phone records, and witness accounts that demonstrated Simcock’s severe coercive control and violent behavior.
Appearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Simcock entered formal guilty pleas to two counts of rape of a woman, two counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of threatening to share a photograph or film of a person in an intimate state, one count of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, and one count of stalking involving fear of violence.
On 12 August 2026, the presiding judge sentenced Simcock to a total custodial term of 14 years and ten months with a three-year and two-month extended licence. The court also issued an indefinite restraining order prohibiting Simcock from contacting either survivor and ordered his lifetime placement on the Sex Offenders Register.
