A Frodsham man, Ian Tabron, who surreptitiously recorded four children in a changing room at a Widnes recreation center has been sentenced.

On Tuesday, June 23, Ian Tabron appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court and was sentenced to four months in prison with a one-year suspension. Additionally, he must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for 7 years.

The 40-year-old resident of Frodsham’s Top Road had already entered a guilty plea to voyeurism.

The court heard that on Tuesday, May 19, police were summoned to the Halton Leisure Centre after employees reported that a man had attempted to covertly photograph four youngsters in a changing cubicle.

Officers were present and had conversations with the kids. They claimed to have entered a changing cubicle after utilising the pool. They were inside when they saw a hand reaching under the door, holding a phone that seemed to be recording them.

The man began to leave after the kids informed their buddies. Staff confronted him, but he swiftly fled the area.

Officers identified the individual as Tabron after looking over CCTV footage.

He was quickly taken into custody and accused of voyeurism.
