Fuvad Sidat, 52, of Upper Road, Dewsbury, was sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment for the offence of sexual communication with a child at Leeds Crown Court on Friday.
The 52-year-old had admitted guilt to the act at a prior court session in July.
The court was informed that Fuvad Sidat had sought to engage a teenage girl in Kirklees in October 2019 and requested to initiate video calls with her.
The victim informed her mother, who subsequently intercepted demands from Fuvad Sidat for sexually explicit material from the victim.
She filed a report with the police, initiating a comprehensive investigation by safeguarding detectives.
Fuvad Sidat was apprehended in October 2019 and subsequently indicted.
Fuvad Sidat was required to register as a sex offender and would be subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
