In 2022, a foul Hucclecote sex offender, Eric Barton, who sexually raped a 92-year-old woman with Alzheimer’s illness in her own home, was jailed for five-and-a-half years.
The abuse by Eric Barton of Hucclecote was filmed on covert surveillance cameras in the victim’s home.
Last week, he was found guilty of five sexual assault-related offences.
Judge Moira Macmillan of Gloucester Crown Court sentenced the 77-year-old, stating, “It is difficult to imagine a more vulnerable victim.”
According to Judge Macmillan, the acts “have had a devastating impact on the woman’s family” and “many of them have had to seek counselling as a direct result.”
He was convicted on five counts of having sex with a woman whose mental illness interfered with her ability to make her own decisions.
He was found not guilty of one count of penetrative sexual activity with a person with a mental condition impeding free choice, and one count of inducing a person with a mental disorder impeding free choice to engage in sexual activity.
Barton was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
