Former teacher Emily Drury, aged 26, of Tuplin Road, Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire, was sentenced to four years and six months’ imprisonment at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday, 21 August 2026, after pleading guilty to five sexual offences involving a teenage boy.
The court heard that Drury engaged in sexual activity with the victim on numerous occasions between May and June 2025 while acting as his private tutor. Drury had offered to tutor the boy to help him pass his GCSE examinations following lower-than-expected mock results. She established a position of trust by buying the boy clothes and providing emotional encouragement before initiating the sexual abuse.
Lincolnshire Police investigated the reports, with proceedings prolonged after Drury delayed entering guilty pleas until the final opportunity.

Four counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a teenage boy
One count of engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a teenage boy
The presiding judge sentenced Drury to a custodial term of four years and six months, with a requirement to serve at least half the term in custody prior to release consideration. Drury was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, made subject to a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), and issued with a five-year Restraining Order prohibiting contact with the victim.
