A furious man, Donald Winchcombe Chippenham Paedophile, has been unjustly (his words?!) jailed for four years after he was found guilty of non-recent sexual offences against a child.

Friday (9/8), Donald Winchcombe, 75, of Brake Mead, showed up at Salisbury Crown Court.

Over two years, in the late 1970s, Winchcombe sexually abused a young child under the age of thirteen on several occasions.

In 2021, the victim felt qualified to tell the police about her ordeal, and an inquiry started.

Donald Winchcombe has to serve one more year on an extended license in addition to the four-year prison term.

“The abuse the victim suffered at the hands of Donald Winchcombe over a long period during her childhood will surely have had a long-lasting impact on her, emotionally and psychologically,” said Det Con Laura Barwood of Central CID. “I cannot comprehend just how difficult it must have been in reporting the abuse to police.”

“Donald Winchcombe selfishly deprived the victim of her innocent childhood years by acting as he did.”

“I would want to underline that specialist police have supported the victim throughout the process and I would want to record my thanks to her for the bravery she has shown in coming forward, sharing her ordeal and helping to put Donald Winchcombe behind bars.”
