In 2026, the Offender Register reported that David Trigg had been sentenced to a 15-year prison term. He was convicted of sexually assaulting two girls and raping an adolescent in the 1990s.
David Trigg, a resident of Whitchurch, was sentenced to 15 years in prison at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, June 26, 2026, following a trial.
The 60-year-old was convicted of one count of sexual assault, seven counts of indecent assault on a girl under 14, and one count of rape of a female under 16.
The offences were committed in the Malpas region of Cheshire.
In 2022, one of the complainants in this case reported that Trigg had sexually assaulted her in the late 1990s to the police.
Subsequently, an investigation was initiated, and two additional complainants submitted their complaints.
Between the late 1990s and the early 2000s, they both disclosed that Trigg had sexually assaulted them.
Trigg was charged after conducting a thorough investigation into the complaints. Despite his denial of the charges, he was convicted after a trial in April 2026.
In addition to his custodial sentence, Trigg is required to sign the Sex Offender Register indefinitely and is subject to a 14-year Restraining Order and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order against all three of the complainants.
