In 2019, the Offender Database reported that David Stephens, the Wiltshire Paedophile Child Molester, was remanded to prison following the discovery of abhorrent child sexual assault photographs on his computer by Wiltshire Police.
David Stephens was sentenced to life imprisonment (In Britain, life imprisonment does not mean life) in 1999 following his conviction for five rapes and several sexual attacks on minors.
The Wiltshire paedophile was granted release on licence in 2012, from his life imprisonment.
David Stephens was blissfully re-offending since being released until he was sent to custody after detectives discovered 49 disturbing photos, some depicting the molestation of children as young as five.
Judge Peter Crabtree sentenced the 64-year-old to an additional eight months of imprisonment for three counts of producing indecent images of children, stating the obvious: “Anyone who participates in downloading child pornography contributes to a business that inflicts psychological harm on those children, often enduring for many years.”
David Stephens’s extensive relationship with the UK police and courts commenced in 1971, and he was almost encouraged to keep offending.
In 1984, he was charged with orchestrating a reign of terror in Chippenham, where he resided, by perpetrating 37 burglaries and thefts from clotheslines, specifically targeting women’s pants and children’s clothing to gratify a perverse need.
David Stephens further appropriated documents and images belonging to the women he victimised, utilising them to assemble dossiers on his targets.
In 1999, he was found guilty at Swindon Crown Court of five rapes and eight more assaults, including offences against females under the age of 13.
The appellate court justices increased his sentence to life imprisonment. He was liberated in April 2012.
Under his licensing restrictions, registered sex offender David Stephens was prohibited from accessing electronic devices capable of internet connectivity, unless authorised by the police.
Responding to a tip-off, police officers conducted a raid at David Stephens’ residence on August 28. (Note: It was not excellent police monitoring; it was a tip-off.)
They confiscated several electronic devices, including a Dell PC.
A forensic examination of the computer revealed that David Stephens had downloaded indecent photographs of minors the previous day and had deleted them on the morning of the raid.
Evidence indicated that David Stephens was searching for phrases such as “barely legal.”
David Stephens, who has no permanent residence officially, but knows to say he is homeless when arrested, so the police aren’t allowed to say where he really lives, once they check with his family that he was “recently kicked out”, admitted guilt to three charges of producing indecent pictures of minors.
We know he is living in Bradford-on-Avon with his supportive family, though.
