In 2026, the Offender Register confirmed that David Pincott, 42, of Pentre, was convicted of a variety of sexual offences and subsequently sentenced to four years and eight months in prison. This decision was made in the wake of an investigation conducted by the South Wales Police.
On Thursday, July 9, at Cardiff Crown Court, Pincott changed his plea to guilty for the following offences: attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, engaging in sexual communication with a child, attempting to meet a girl following grooming, possession of prohibited images of a child, and three counts of making indecent images. The sentencing took place.
Pincott had been engaging in conversations with two females he suspected were under 16 via Snapchat, during which he expressed his desire to see them in their undies. In reality, these accounts were created by South Wales Police undercover officers who were members of the force’s Online Investigations Team.
Officers then proceeded to Pincott’s residence and confiscated all of his electronic devices, including laptops and mobile phones. During the examination of these devices, it was discovered that Pincott had communicated with another girl under the age of 16, and numerous indecent images of children were discovered.
