Christine Callaghan, a convicted sex offender jailed in 2021 for broadcasting the sexual abuse of a young child for cash, has established a commercial enterprise producing personalised gifts for children in Larkfield, Maidstone, under the alias Skye Lewis-Wright.
Callaghan, formerly of Bexhill, East Sussex, was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment at Lewes Crown Court in 2021 following a joint investigation that uncovered an extensive network of online child abuse.
The court heard that Callaghan received payments totalling £2,285 from co-defendant Dean Petley in return for livestreaming the sexual abuse of a primary-school-aged girl over an encrypted Skype connection over nearly three years.
The operation was uncovered when law enforcement officers seized an encrypted hard drive from Petley’s residence containing two years of saved video sessions, logs, and screenshots detailing the abuse.
Digital evidence established that on at least ten separate occasions between 2016 and 2018, Callaghan performed penetrative sexual acts in the presence of the child.
She pleaded guilty to distributing Category A livestreamed abuse files, distributing Category B files, and two counts of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Following her release from prison custody on licence, Callaghan relocated to the Larkfield district of Maidstone, altered her appearance by dyeing her hair blonde, and adopted the name Skye Lewis-Wright.
Under this persona, Callaghan launched Patches Studio, an online and local service providing customised merchandise aimed at families.
Among the products advertised are personalised photo keyrings, a service that encourages parents to submit digital photographs of their young children to be formatted and printed onto items.
The enterprise is based in close geographic proximity to two local education providers: Lunsford Primary School and Brookfield Infant School.
Callaghan’s activities came to light after she submitted repeated demands requesting the removal of her conviction records from online public safety archives.
Following updated publications identifying her current activities, local residents and prospective customers recognised Callaghan, who then falsely denied her convictions when directly challenged regarding her past.
