Connor Flynn, aged 22, previously of Marion Square, Kettering, Northamptonshire, was sentenced to 27 months in prison at Northampton Crown Court on June 25, 2026, after pleading guilty to domestic abuse charges and public firearm offences.
The court heard that between September 2024 and May 2025, Flynn subjected a female victim to a sustained campaign of controlling and coercive behaviour. Flynn utilized intimidation, constantly interrogating the victim regarding her whereabouts and associates. When the victim chose to end the relationship, Flynn escalated his behaviour by transmitting threatening and abusive voicemails before committing an assault occasioning actual bodily harm between May 28 and June 1, 2025.
An investigation conducted by Northamptonshire Police’s Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit led to Flynn being charged with seven distinct offences relating to the victim. Although Flynn initially denied the allegations, he entered guilty pleas ahead of a scheduled crown court trial, admitting to controlling or coercive behaviour and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Two additional counts of ABH, two counts of threatening to disclose an intimate photograph, and one count of false imprisonment were ordered to lie on file by the court.
During the same sentencing hearing, Flynn was sentenced for two counts of possession of an imitation firearm in a public place. These charges stemmed from an August 23, 2023, incident in Elizabeth Street, Corby, where Flynn discharged a BB gun at a man.
Detective Constable Luke Delong commended the victim’s exceptional courage in coming forward to report Flynn’s intolerable conduct, highlighting the severe isolation and fear caused by domestic abuse.
The presiding judge sentenced Flynn to a total custodial term of 27 months’ imprisonment and ordered him to pay a £228 surcharge. Additionally, the court issued a seven-year restraining order explicitly banning Flynn from making any contact with the victim.
