A child sex offender who abused a three-year-old has been sent back to prison for failing to comply with conditions designed to keep the public safe.

Callum MacGregor was locked up in 2015 for sexually assaulting and inciting the young child into sexual activity, along with indecent images offences. As well as the four-year prison sentence, he was ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life and given a sexual offences prevention order.

One of the requirements was that Callum MacGregor was to register with the police annually so they could keep track of him.

But Callum MacGregor failed to do so and was arrested for failing to comply with his notification requirements.

Now the 25-year-old, Callum MacGregor, of Claremont Terrace, Sunderland, has been jailed for ten months at Newcastle Crown Court for the offence and for being in breach of a suspended prison sentence.
