On Friday, 9 January 2026, the Offender Database reported that Caitano Azavedo, 40, was sentenced to six years in prison at the High Court in Glasgow. Azavedo was convicted of a “horrifying” and serious sexual assault of a young woman in Aberdeen.
The court heard that the attack took place in the King Street and Linksfield Road areas of Aberdeen on Sunday, 22 October 2023. Detective Inspector Mark Lambley described Azavedo as a “sexual predator” whose depraved actions have resulted in a significant custodial sentence. Following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh in December 2025, a jury found him guilty of the assault.
