British Transport Police (BTP) investigators are looking into a rape at Guildford railway station.
On January 19, 2025, at approximately 7 p.m., the victim and her companions were walking to the Surrey station when a man approached them.
He attempted to persuade her to join him on the train when they got there. He started asking her to have sex with him after she said no, but she refused.
Before he separated the girl from her friends and sexually assaulted her, they left the station.
After escaping him, she went back to her pals, who were still waiting outside the station’s main door.
“The person responsible for this horrific crime targeted a vulnerable victim who was just 17 years old at the time of the attack,” stated BTP Detective Sergeant Nick Thompson.
“As we pursue every avenue of inquiry as part of our continuing investigation, specialist officers continue to assist her and her family.
We are aware that the surrounding community will be concerned about this occurrence, and I am directly asking them to assist us in identifying the man in these pictures.
“If you recognise him, please get in touch as soon as possible. He may have important information that could help our investigation.”
