Aziz Khan, a Heron Cross Rapist, perpetrated the sexual assault at his parents’ residence in Stoke-on-Trent before boasting to his acquaintances. Rapist Aziz Khan explicitly recorded his violent sexual assault on a ‘drunk and incapacitated’ student and subsequently uploaded the tape online.
The 22-year-old ‘callous coward’ is commencing an 11-year prison sentence after raping a lady at his parents’ residence in Heron Cross following a night out.
Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court was informed that Aziz Khan, characterised as preoccupied with sexual thoughts and exhibiting peculiar behaviour towards women, exploited the victim after she became isolated from her companions in Newcastle.
Although she was asleep, Staffordshire University student Aziz Khan assaulted her while recording the incident on his cell phone and then boasted about the sexual ‘conquest’.
The woman thereafter departed the residence at 4 AM and implored the neighbouring household for assistance.
The court was informed that her life had been irrevocably damaged by the rape.
Prosecutor Robert Price stated that the victim and her companions ventured into Newcastle town centre for an evening of entertainment.
They proceeded to Revolution and subsequently transitioned to The Kiln.
The victim’s friend characterised her as highly intoxicated, and she entrusted her purse, which had her phone, to her companion.
Mr Price stated:
Amidst the intoxication, the victim and her companions were dissociated. The victim was in the presence of the defendant.
He was accompanied by a close buddy who informed the police of a broad principle. Aziz Khan was preoccupied with the subject of sex. He characterised him as a cad and a nuisance, concluding that Khan exhibited peculiar behaviour with women.
Aziz Khan epitomised opportunism, using the victim’s vulnerability and incapacity due to intoxication. She was thoroughly inebriated. She was oblivious to her location, companions, and activities.
She was incapable of making decisions or consenting to any sexual activity.
The defendant sexually assaulted her while recording the conduct on his cell phone.
A young woman, incapacitated and unresponsive due to drinking, is being sexually assaulted by a gentleman emitting grunting sounds.
The court was informed that she departed the defendant’s residence at 4 AM and subsequently knocked on the adjacent property.
The victim descended a brick wall onto her posterior and exhibited incoherence; however, the neighbour assisted her to her feet and into a taxi.
She returned to her friend’s residence.
The following day, the defendant displayed the film of the assault to his friend and boasted about engaging in sexual intercourse with the victim.
He also bragged to another boy in Hanley.
The court heard the victim had no recollection, but later became aware of the video, which had been uploaded to Snapchat.
The victim told her parents, and the police were informed.
In a statement, the victim said she remains affected by what happened and struggles to get through the day.
She was devastated by the violent abuse and feels physically sick on a daily basis.
She has experienced profound fatigue, sleep deprivation, and flashbacks.
She once overdosed on tablets and says she feels dirty, ashamed and angry.
The ordeal also led to her leaving her university course, and it has had a detrimental impact on her family.
Aziz Khan, of Heron Street, Heron Cross, pleaded guilty to rape and disclosing private sexual photos or films with the intent to cause distress.
Barry White, mitigating, said the defendant’s offence has had an immense effect on his family. Mr White said: He has found it difficult to admit what he has done. Since this happened, he has not drunk alcohol or gone out. He said the defendant’s pleas prevented the victim from having to give evidence in a trial. Mr White added that the defendant has completed his accountancy course at university and will have a qualification to fall back on when released.
Judge David Fletcher made the defendant the subject of an indefinite restraining order, which prevents him from contacting his victim or her parents.
Jailing Khan for 11 years and two months, Judge Fletcher told him: It is quite clear when you got in the taxi, you were fully aware of the extreme state of her intoxication. You had only one thing on your mind – sex. You had sexual intercourse with her without her consent, and on the basis of the very disturbing video footage, without her knowledge. She had no clue what was happening to her. She was not in a conscious state at all. You filmed it in the most graphic detail. You pushed her out. You did not go on the street with her to make sure the taxi was going to take her safely home. All you could do was shout down from the roof above – the behaviour of a callous coward. You showed your friend the video. Within 24 hours, you showed it to another person. The video’s existence became general knowledge. This is a serious case.
Aziz Khan, who will serve half his sentence with the rest on licence, was placed on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.
