In 2022, a Castleford Paedophile, Andrew Burrows, was convicted of a series of sexual offences against an adolescent girl and was sentenced to over eight years in prison.

On Wednesday, December 7, Andrew Burrows, a then 38-year-old resident of Castleford, was sentenced to eight years and six months in prison at Leeds Crown Court for four counts of sexual activity with a minor.

He was remanded in custody pending sentencing after being found guilty of the offences at a trial in September.

In 2017, the court was informed that he had engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old victim in the Kirklees area, even though she was under the age of consent.

Later, the victim reported the offences to the West Yorkshire Police, and the Kirklees Child Safeguarding Unit conducted an investigation.
