In December 2025, the Offender Database reported that Alieu George, 45, of no fixed address, was found guilty at Brighton Crown Court of a violent predatory attack in a public park. Following a trial, a jury convicted George of rape and sexual assault by penetration for an incident that occurred in broad daylight in the Dorset Gardens area of Brighton.
The court heard that on Sunday, 22 June 2025, at approximately 9:05 am, George targeted a 34-year-old woman who was walking home after a night out with colleagues. George approached her and used deceptive tactics to isolate her from her social group before leading her to the park. Three members of the public witnessed the victim’s distress and intervened by calling 999. When Sussex Police officers arrived minutes later, they found the victim distraught on the ground with George lying next to her; he initially attempted to evade arrest by falsely claiming the woman was his girlfriend.
Detective Constable Daisy Alden, the officer in charge of the case, praised the “courage and determination” of the survivor and the swift action of the witnesses, whose testimonies were described as “highly impactful” during the trial. The investigation established that George had made repeated sexual advances before force was used. DC Alden noted that George presented a “clear danger to women” and that his conviction significantly increased the safety of the local community.
Following the guilty verdicts on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, Alieu George was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to reappear at Brighton Crown Court for sentencing on 10 March 2026. At that time, it is expected he will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) with stringent lifetime conditions to manage the risk he poses upon his eventual release.
Because George has no fixed address, he will be managed under the highest level of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) in Sussex. These arrangements involve close coordination between the police, the probation service, and local housing authorities to ensure he is strictly monitored and that his location is known to public protection officers at all times.
