A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in Smith County, Texas, accused of repeatedly taking a young child to a medical clinic to be sexually assaulted by a doctor in exchange for prescription medication.
Alicia Evonne Sanchez, who also uses the surname Seguin, was taken into custody on 30 September 2026 following an inquiry into historic child sexual abuse. Online custody records confirm she has been charged with continuous sexual assault of a child younger than 14.
According to investigative findings, Sanchez escorted the child to the medical offices of former physician Kenneth Donald Haygood on repeated occasions between 2019 and 2023. Detectives allege Sanchez remained present inside the consulting room while Haygood subjected the young victim to sexual assaults on at least ten separate occasions.
Court filings and reports outline that the child repeatedly cried and pleaded for the abuse to stop, but the pleas were dismissed, with the child being told that the actions were routine medical procedures.
In exchange for facilitating the appointments and access to the child, Haygood allegedly provided Sanchez with quantities of prescription Adderall and other controlled pharmaceutical substances.
The investigation was launched after the child disclosed the abuse to another adult and a professional counsellor. Records show that Haygood had previously been convicted and sentenced in 2025 to eight years in prison after entering guilty pleas to separate sexual assault charges.
Sanchez remains detained at the Smith County Jail in Tyler, Texas, pending upcoming arraignment and pre-trial hearings.
