In 2022, Alex Gregory, the Rotherham Paedophile, a predator who groomed a 14-year-old girl online before sexually assaulting her, was sentenced to three years in prison.
In January 2020, Alex Gregory (then 27) was apprehended following the victim’s report, which initiated a police inquiry.
This indicated that Alex Gregory had been soliciting underage girls on social media, proposing rides and cigarettes.
Detective Constable Joanne Smithson, from Rotherham’s Child Sexual Exploitation squad, stated: “Alex Gregory’s conduct was predatory and exploitative.”
He was evidently aware that the ladies he was pursuing were minors.
The victim in this case endured sexual abuse following a period of grooming by Gregory.
I appreciate her courage in disclosing the incident, enabling us to present this perilous character before the judiciary.
Alex Gregory confessed to engaging in sexual activity with a minor under 16 during a prior hearing and received his sentence at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday.
Alex Gregory received a sexual harm prevention order during his incarceration.
